What is an event?
An Event, in ConnectSx, represents any way inventory is consumed from the system. An event is created, sales or device use are recorded, and when the event is closed/submitted the inventory is consumed from the account becoming deactivated/inactive.
There are a number of different types of events that represent different real-life scenarios when inventory is being consumed or depleted.
There are different types of events to match the various needs that can arise where your inventory is involved. Event types you can choose from include:
Case: The case is the most common Event type and refers to a surgical case where inventory is used and billed.
Sample: You might use the Sample Event type when a piece of your inventory is given to a sales prospect for promotional or marketing reasons or perhaps if a device was used in a demonstration and is no longer sellable.
Loan: Loan can be used if an item or container is loaned to a provider or other sales rep. This will create a record that the inventory is loaned out.
Damage: If inventory is damaged and must be removed from your stock use this Event Type.
Return: If Inventory needs to be returned to a vendor/supplier/manufacturer whether or not they are connected with your ConnectSx account, use this Event type.
Trial: If the product is part of a clinical trial, this event type will allow for the capture of critical data required in those activities.
Stock adjustment: Use this event type to remove inventory in the system to fix inventory inaccuracies.
Stocking Order: A stocking order allows you to sell inventory outright to the hospital outside of a surgical case with the intent being that they pull from it on their shelves as needed after the sale. A stocking order, rather than deactivating inventory, converts it to Facility Stock which is inventory that can no longer be sold but CAN STILL BE USED in a case in order to track device use and provide traceability to the patient record of the inventory that was used.
Other: Use this Event type for any activity not covered by one of our other designations. If you have Event types you think should be added, drop us a line – we’re interested!
