The Knowledge Xfer, Issue 13: Deactivating Inventory
Hey there,
In our last issue of the Knowledge Xfer we showed you how to create custodial users in your account, even if they aren't going to be active! If you missed it, check out the article here.
This week we wanted to show you an important method you can use to keep your inventory accurate. Sometimes we know your counts can become inaccurate and you may have inventory in your account that does not physically exist. Typically we would encourage you to create an Event of some sort to consume that inventory so you would have a record of the inventory removal. But, like most things in life, there is another way. You can actually deactivate individual devices or containers by clicking the "Deactivate" button on their detail screen.
Keep in mind: 1) if you deactivate a container filled with inventory, everything inside that container will also be deactivated, and 2) deactivation is permanent and cannot be undone.
Although the inventory will be inactive, removed from your counts, and no longer usable, you will still be able to sort and view this inventory if you ever need to reference it. To see how, look here!
All the best,
Brendan Sweeney
