What to Understand about your Inactive Inventory
Welcome to ConnectSx's inventory management system! We understand that it's important for you to keep track of all your inventory, whether it's active or inactive. Here are some things you need to know about inactive inventory:
Firstly, we want to clarify that almost all inventory data is never deleted from your ConnectSx account. Instead, when your inventory is used or manually deactivated, it becomes "inactive" and can no longer be used or transferred. However, you can always go back and look up a device, its details, and transaction history.
When does inventory become inactive?
Inventory becomes inactive in two situations:
When single-use inventory is consumed from inventory in a case, it becomes "inactive" or "deactivated."
When an item is manually deactivated.
Can a device be reactivated?
The only situation when a device may be reactivated is when an event is reopened. If the device is removed from the case and given a status of "unused," it will return to active and unused status. In no other situation can a device be reactivated. If devices are deactivated manually in error, they will need to be recreated in the system.
How do you review your inactive inventory?
You can navigate to the inventory screen in the console and check the last box in the filters pane for deactivated inventory.
What can you do with your inactive inventory?
Most options and functions are disabled for inactive inventory, but there are a few things you can do:
You may add tags to inactive inventory to make it easier to find in the future.
You may add notes to inactive inventory to record any relevant information after it is deactivated.
What then is Facility Stock?
Facility stock is inventory that has been sold in a stocking order, which is a type of event. This is the only situation where single-use inventory from an event is not consumed and deactivated after a case. In this instance, the inventory was sold to the facility outright to use off the shelf as needed for surgical cases. The stocking order allows you to sell the inventory to the facility and then record its use later in a case without double dipping on sales.
Essentially, facility stock is still active because it has not been "used," but it is already sold and cannot be sold again. It is deactivated after it is used in a case.
